The Power Ranch community is well known for being Gilbert's largest and most active family-oriented, master-planned community. It consists of two clubhouses, many community parks and trails, and its very own K-8 school.
Gilbert has experienced quite a boom in commercial growth; Santan Village Mall off of Williams Field Road and Loop 202 opened in 2007 and includes a Macy's, Dilliard's, Best Buy, Apple Store, Barnes and Noble, Harkins Theatre, and a conglomeration of restaurants. Across Williams Field Road are a Sam's Club, Costco, Wal-Mart, and various shops.
